Delete Your Account

1. Open MealPoll and sign in.
2. Go to Account (or Profile if you are a mess member).
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
4. Confirm the action. Your account is scheduled for deletion in 7 days.
5. If you change your mind, sign back in within those 7 days and tap Cancel Account Deletion — your account will be fully restored.

After 7 days the deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.

If you cannot access the app, email support@mealpoll.com from the email address registered with your MealPoll account, with the subject line “Delete my account”. We will verify your identity and process the request within 30 days.

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:

• Your profile information (name, email, phone number, avatar)
• Your push notification token and notification preferences
• Your authentication credentials (password hash, sessions)
• Your poll responses and meal customizations
• Your active mess memberships
• If you are a mess owner — your mess is unlinked from your identity and hidden from other users

To comply with Indian tax and accounting law (GST and the Income Tax Act), we keep the following for up to 8 years after deletion:

• Invoice and bill records linked to your mess membership
• Payment transaction IDs and status. We never store card or bank details — those are held only by our payment processor, Razorpay.

These records are anonymised: your name and email are scrubbed and replaced with a placeholder so the bill remains valid for the mess owner's books without identifying you. After the retention period ends, these records are also permanently deleted.

Anonymised, aggregate usage statistics that cannot identify you may be kept indefinitely.
